MARYSVILLE — The Marysville-Pilchuck and Marysville Getchell boys swim teams hosted the Shorecrest Scots for their first dual meet of the season on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

The Scots managed to out-swim the Marysville teams, topping the Chargers 140-45 and topping the Tomahawks 135-50, but despite the initial loss, Marysville head coach Meredith Jenks is expecting a good season overall.

“The start of the season has been going very well,” said Jenks. “This is really a great group of boys. There’s a really great team atmosphere with both M-P and MG practicing together.”

Jenks noted that both teams offered several returning seniors and strong swimmers.

“For M-P we have Colin Willis, who is a returning senior, as well as Jonathon Pusateri. And for MG there’s Daniel Swanson, Kevin Korte and Connor DeMarco, who is a freshman, but he’s been doing really well. This meet is a chance for us to go out and show what we’re made of.”
