MARYSVILLE – If the frenzied back-to-school schedule has you trying to beat the buzzer to register your child in time for the popular Marysville Youth Basketball League, take an extra breath.

The Marysville Parks and Recreation Department has extended registration from Oct. 2 to Friday, Oct. 8 to give you more time to sign up your Marysville or Lakewood-area student grades 1st-8th for basketball league play. This fun league focuses on basic fundamentals, teamwork and good sportsmanship for all players, in a recreation league environment.

Registration fee is $66 for the first family member, and $60 for each additional member. To register, drop by the Marysville Parks Office at 6915 Armar Road in Jennings Memorial Park between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays.

Practices begin the first week of December. Games start the first week of January 2011. Volunteer Coaches are always needed.

For more information call Marysville Parks and Recreation at 360-363-8400 or e-mail Athletic Coordinator Dave Hall at dhall@marysvillewa.gov.
