Praise and raze (Aug. 8)

Praise to the state Department of Transportation for putting up no panhandling signs at the local offramps from I-5. There has been a drastic decrease as a result.

Praise to all the jobs available and help wanted signs seen throughout the area.

Raze if people who don’t have a job refuse to take advantage of that.

Praise to Arlington for having another popular public event on the Fourth of July.

Raze to Marysville for not having one despite all of the interest.

Praise to Marysville for taking input on what the community wants for State Avenue’s future.

Praise to Marysville for its first Splish Splash Summer Blast. Great way to kick off the summer.

Praise and congratulations to Arlington for its 50th Fly-In. The digital fireworks could be our future.

Praise to Poochapalooza for providing so much doggone fun during the dog days of summer.

Praise to Maryfest for putting on a wonderful Strawberry Festival despite all the negativity of the past few years.

Praise to Marysville for awarding beautification grants to neighborhoods.

Raze that businesses are not involved. What a great way to spruce up State Avenue if a business could get a beautification grant for some planter boxes, for example.

Praise to the Arlington Kiwanis for honoring longtime member George Boulton at its auction on July 4. Boulton was “Mr. Kiwanis.”

Praise to the new Marysville Toyota for its huge flag, showing unsurpassed patriotism.

Praise to all our graduating seniors. Some had to overcome great challenges to be successful.

Praise to Shawn Schraeder and all who help make the Marysville Farmers Market so fun.

Praise to Steve’s Plumbing for providing a free sewer for someone in need in Arlington.

Raze to the three culprits who attacked a single real estate agent. Gutless.

Praise to businesses that take care of our elderly during the day so they can be with families in evenings.

Raze that we don’t have more of them. It’s a great business opportunity, and a big need in our society today.

Praise to the Smokey Point Behavioral Center for focusing on a program to help veterans.

Praise to the spring sports stars who made the all-league teams.

Praise to all involved in the Healthy Communities Day. Praise to the dozens of local graduates who earned scholarships to further their educations.
