Praise and raze (April 7)

Praise that Marysville has found a way to build a new Civic Center that will improve the jail and consolidate departments with little cost to residents.

Raze that the Marysville Crisis Support team has to go after its own money to continue. The city should fund that position.

Raze that the rainy weather has hurt Cedarcrest Golf Course so much.

Praise that such a thoughtful mural has been painted at the Arlington Resource Center.

Praise to Marysville, Arlington and Snohomish County for bringing a compassionate way to deal with the homeless in this area.

Praise to those who donate to the new Oso Memorial.

Praise to those who are looking at a holistic approach to end school shootings.

Raze to those who focus only on gun bans. We have to agree to disagree on that.

But praise to everyone for participating peacefully in the process. That’s what makes our system of government the best.

Praise to the Marysville City Council for taking the lead against the Snohomish Health District’s stance on needle exchanges.

Praise to family and friends of Robbie Myrick Jr. for putting on a basketball tournament in his honor.

Praise to the Stillaguamish Tribe for opening a methadone clinic.

Praise to all who remember Mr. Kiwanis George Boulton at his memorial Sunday night at 6 at the Performing Arts Center at Arlington High School.

Raze to the county for not prosecuting some Marysville drug crimes.

Praise to the Marysville-Pilchuck NJROTC for hosting and then putting on a great performance at the conference championships.

Praise to the YMCA for putting on a fund-raiser to help People with Parkinson’s.

Praise that Wenberg Park is going to get a make-over.

Praise to those who came to the aid of Bernarda Pineda of Marysville so she wasn’t deported back to Honduras.

Raze that the Marysville Goodwill job center is closing.

Praise that a modern development like Emory Lofts wants to come to Arlington.

Raze to drivers at four-way stops who don’t proceed in the order that they are first in line. It’s getting dangerous with so many law-breakers thinking if they put the pedal to the metal they are first.
