Marysville Foursquare church multi-generational, multi-cultural

By Aaron Thompson

At Marysville Foursquare we envision being a church that helps people grow in a real relationship with Jesus in a gospel community.

We value being multi-generational, so there are lots of classes and groups for children and junior high and high school students, as well as weekly gatherings for The Ambassadors, those age 55 and older. We also value being multicultural, so we celebrate that on a given Sunday with up to 40 percent of the congregation from non-white heritage. Our hope is to be a community of faith that reflects in love and unity the actual demographics of the community itself.

One of the main needs people have is to know they aren’t alone in life. We offer lots of relational connections through 12-15 Life Groups happening weekly. One of our favorite Life Groups is called “Rooted”, a group of 10-15 people journaling and sharing their faith journey together for 10 weeks. It’s a safe place for people with no church background to come and explore faith, the bible and spirituality without judgment

Marysville Foursquare hosts Celebrate Recovery every Wednesday at 7 p.m. CR is a Christ-centered 12-step program for people to process their hurts, habits and hang-ups in a relational setting. We have all been wounded in relationships that have resulted in all kinds of coping behaviors that can keep us stuck. Isolation, addiction, depression, shame, guilt, avoidance, fear, anger, self-reliance, the list goes on and on. Celebrate Recovery is a place of hope. The CR at Marysville Foursquare serves dinner at 6 p.m., has a large group gathering at 7 p.m. and groups meeting at 8 p.m. Our motto is “We do real here!” Everyone is welcome at CR, regardless of the issue, regardless of your faith or church affiliation.

At CR on Wednesdays we also host Celebration Place (for K-5th grade) and The Landing (for 6th-12th grade) at 7 p.m.
