I’m a student at 10th Street School in Marysville. My band teacher was going to get laid off because of budget cuts. Because our teacher is so cool us kids sent in letters, emails, went to meetings, and even got together a petition to save his job. We think that as a result of our actions the school board changed their mind and did not lay off my teacher. When young people work together it’s amazing how much power we have.
