88th Street Annex

I reviewed the article by Mr. Tom Corrigan, about the proposed annexation of a section of the county north of 88th street and east of State Street. The article mentions that this annexation affects about 19,000 residents in this mythical urban growth area. (Urban growth area was decided by some chowder-heads in Olympia, not locally). No where in this article does it mention that the county of Snohomish or city of Marysville was going to request a vote of these 19,000 residents as to weather they want to be annexed to anywhere let alone the city of Marysville.
Personally, I don’t want anything to do with a city that is as liberal and spends as much as the City of Seattle (His Majesty Nichols) or King County (Governor Simms of Puget Sound). If I wanted to live in the city I would have bought a house in the city. I’m tired of so called do-gooders on some City Council that I didn’t get to vote for to decide what happens to my property. I see there is no advantage to being in the city verses county
In the year where we have a major election, it would be prudent for Snohomish County and the city of Marysville to have an election for annexation — 19,000 residents demand it.
Democracy dictates that there should be an election.
Win, lose or draw I will stand by what the majority vote, not the decision by a few elected officials I didn’t get to vote for.
