On behalf of the Operation Marysville Community Christmas committee, I would like to thank the Marysville community for their continuing support in our efforts to feed hungry families in Marysville during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
On Nov. 3, we held our annual All City Food Drive at six grocery stores throughout Marysville. Thanks to Marysville generosity we collected over 5,000 pounds of food for the Marysville Community Food Bank. Over $1,000 in cash and gift cards were donated and will be used to purchase food for Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets as well as for toys for the OMCC Toy Store (Lillies Legacy).
Many thanks go to Allen Creek Thriftway, Albertsons (North & South), Haggens, Fred Meyer, and Grocery Outlet, as well as to the organizations who collected and sorted food on Nov. 3, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Kiwanis, Lions, Soroptimist, HomeStreet Bank, Sons of Italy and United Methodist Youth, as well as several Marysville-Pilchuck High School groups including NJROTC, FBLA, Honor Society and Volunteer Club. Many individuals also donated their time.
Families can sign up for Thanksgiving or Christmas food baskets or receiving Christmas toys at the Marysville Community Food Bank Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon or Saturdays 9 11 a.m. for working families.
Donations of food and toys may be made to any of our red food barrels in businesses around the Marysville community or at the food bank. Anyone who would like to know more about the Marysville Community Food Bank may call 360-658-1054 for more information. For information on OMCC contact OMCC4Marysville@gmail.com.
