As a commissioner's wife with North County Fire/EMS, I would like to bring to everyone's attention the North County Regional Fire Authority Proposition 1, which is to be voted on Aug. 19. This will protect and continue vital Emergency Medical Services for our community. This vital EMS level of service helps protect and serve the local communities of Bryant, Freeborn, Sunday Lake, Kayak, McKee's Beach, Lake Ketchum, Grandview, Kackman, Lake Armstrong, Warm Beach and the greater North Snohomish County area.

Prop. 1 will help maintain locally based paramedics, keep the costs of transports down and improve efficiency of the level of services delivered. I would also like to assure everyone as a taxpayer and someone who has and does depend on these services, that I have found the medical services of North County Fire/EMS are working to the highest standards. These men and women risk their lives every day as guardians of our great communities to ensure our families safety.

The communities should be proud of North County Fire/EMS, knowing that if an emergency arises they will be cared for in the most professional manner. We need to continue to support and protect our level of Emergency Medical Services. It is time that we help support these men and women at North County Regional Fire Authority. Please remember to vote Yes for Prop. 1 on Aug. 19.

Thanks again, everyone should be proud to be part of these great communities.
