Shirley Lee Hilbert

A bright light went out Saturday June 4th, 2011.Our loving wife and mother left this earth unexpectedly after complications from surgery. Born Shirley Lee Cutright to Archie and Goldie Cutright in 1936. She was raised in Illinois and never lost that Midwest mentality even though she moved from there in 1962.

Mom was one of the rare people that had a heart full of love and kindness and always saw the good in people. She gave us the strength and courage to overcome any hardships and unconditional love no matter what. Mom taught us many things thru the years especially how to go on with a happy life even after the loss of two of her sons. In her memory as difficult as it will be we will do our best to live by her example and know that she along with our brothers will always be watching over us.

She was preceded in death by her father Archie Cutright, bothers Bobby and Bud Cutright, and her sons Marty Stewart and John Stewart.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Barry Hilbert, son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Cindy Stewart, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and BJ Niegowski, daughter-in-law Patricia Stewart, grandchildren William Stewart, Jeremy Stewart, Joshua Ross, Abigail Stewart, Aaron Stewart, and Amanda Niegowski, 3 great-grandchildren, her sister Linda Shaw and her 100-year-old mother Goldie Cutright.

Per mom’s request in lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Services were held Sunday June 12th, 2011 at 1pm at Hawthorne Memorial Park in Mount Vernon, WA. Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
