Beverlye Joanne Garka

October 5, 1934 — November 17, 2018

Beverlye Joanne Garka, 84, of Arlington, went to be with her Savior November 17, 2018. She was born October 5, 1934 to Arthur William Hoery and Katherine Elverna (King) Hoery at home near Port Orchard, WA.

In 1952, she graduated from Arlington High School and went on to attend Nursing school in Everett. While there, she was given the name of a soldier in Korea to pen pal with. They corresponded and met when he came home on leave. She earned her Registered Nursing degree in 1955, and married her dashing Marine, Arnold George Garka, on March 3, 1956.

To know her was to love her, for she was an exceptionally kind, gentle, compassionate woman. A devoted and dependable wife, mother, friend, and faithful servant of Christ, Beve truly saw the face of Jesus in everyone she met and loved her neighbors accordingly. She quietly set a tremendous example for us.

She was involved in various church ministries and Bible studies her entire life, ever eager to strengthen and share her faith. S

She loved reading, music, pinochle, laughing with family and friends, and always wearing that sweet smile. A famously good cook, no one left her house hungry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Bill, and her beloved Arnold. Left to cherish Beve’s loving memory are her children Mike Garka, Kerri Baker, DeLee Holt, Linda Wagner, nine grandchildren, sixteen greatgrandchildren,

two sisters in law, one brother in law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Snohomish Community Church located at 13622 Dubuque Road, Snohomish,

WA 98290.

In lieu of flowers, Beve requested donations be made to Judy Strand. Judy was a dear longtime friend whose missions work was supported by Arnold and

Beve. Memorials will reach her at Judy Strand, #54635 at simusa.org or SIM, PO Box 7900, Charlotte, NC 28241.
