Wife stabbed after reportedly filing for divorce

MARYSVILLE – A 45-year-old Marysville man is in custody after dropping his wife off at an emergency room with multiple stab wounds.

He was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence assault in the first degree.

On Oct. 28 just before 1 a.m., Marysville police were dispatched to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. A Marysville woman, 30, had been stabbed multiple times and was in critical but stable condition. The victim reported that her husband had stabbed her several times after learning she was filing for divorce, drove her to the hospital, and dropped her off. He fled in his vehicle. At about 7:50 a.m. the suspect’s vehicle was located on Chuckanut Drive in Bow. The vehicle was idling and had a hose running from the exhaust pipe into the passenger compartment. The suspect was taken into custody. He was hospitalized and treated for carbon monoxide poisoning.

The victim remains in stable condition in the intensive care unit, Sgt. Pete Shove says in a news release.
