Property crimes unit arrests 5, recovers guns, drugs during search warrant

ARLINGTON – Five men were arrested recently for investigation of trafficking in stolen property after police executing a court-approved search warrant recovered dozens of weapons, cash and drugs.

Detectives on April 25 served a search warrant at a home in the 29000 block of Scouten Loop Road north of Arlington.

The north Snohomish County property crimes unit conducted a thorough search of the residence, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said. They recovered 17 guns, $5,200 in cash, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, various prescription pills and several items that had been reported stolen, including power tools and televisions taken in various burglaries.

The suspects arrested on charges of trafficking stolen property and possession with intent to distribute were a 52 year old and three 26-year-old Arlington men, and a Concrete man, 36.

The north county property crimes unit was launched early in 2015 as a collaboration between the Sheriff’s Office and police departments of Marysville, Lake Stevens, and Stillaguamish Tribe.

The unit comprises property crime detectives from each agency, with support from the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Together with a crime analyst, the detectives cooperate to track down and prosecute the most prolific thieves in the county. The unit operates out of the Marysville Police Department.
