MARYSVILLE – The recent storms may have done a little more damage than was thought.

City crews were out Tuesday cleaning up Ebey Slough and the Waterfront Park. Storms dredged up all kinds of debris that littered the area.

At Monday’s City Council meeting, city parks director Jim Ballew said remnants of old boat houses also broke free into the Qwuloolt Estuary.

He added the Burlington Northern Sante Fe had concerns about its bridge there being compromised by the debris.

Escavators and even crews in boats were cleaning up the area. Ballew called it a public safety emergency caused by Mother Nature.
