New biz committee

SMOKEY POINT – Criminal behavior doesn’t stop at city limits. That’s why Arlington Mayor Barb Tolbert and Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring have teamed up to convene a new Smokey Point Business Committee. It is part of the holistic public safety strategy that includes crime mapping, blanket trespass orders, Conversations with Cops, Keep the Change, SODA, the community resource flier, and coming soon, the law enforcement embedded social worker program. Committee member Erik Granroth said: “It was a great opportunity to come together and discuss our shared problems with transients and homelessness. It is great to see the collaboration between the mayors and police departments of Arlington and Marysville to solve Smokey Point’s toughest challenges.” Any interested businesses should contact Sarah Lopez at Arlington City Hall for details.
