Marysville police recover $115K in stolen coins

MARYSVILLE – Police have recovered more than $115,000 in stolen gold and silver bars and coins after serving two search warrants.

Police also seized multiple ounces of heroin and methamphetamine, along with a vehicle.

The large money collection was stolen several weeks ago in a burglary at a Jefferson County residence, Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said in a news release.

Officers received information that allowed them to obtain a search warrant for a residence in Everett Tuesday night. With assistance from the Everett Police Department pro-act team, officers recovered the large collection of gold and silver that included gold and silver bars and ingots, and a variety of gold and silver coins, including gold German Krugerrands, with an estimated value of $110,000.

Wednesday afternoon, members of the Marysville Police Department NITE Team served the second search warrant and recovered another estimated $5,000 in additional stolen gold and silver coins.
