Marysville Getchell netters win; Chargers and Eagles seeded in the 3A North district soccer tournament; Tommies still have a chance (slide show)

The Chargers will host Shorewood in a play-in game Oct 27. at noon. If MG wins, it will seed in the 3A district tournament.

MARYSVILLE — The Arlington girls soccer team lost to Marysville-Pilchuck 2-1 Oct. 24. Despite that, the Eagles are still ranked No. 1 in the Wesco 3A North with a 12-3-1 record and will host its first district playoff game Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.

Senior midfielders Catrina Wright and Jessica Moskowitz scored the goals for M-P. The Tomahawks improved their record to 7-5-3 and will host a play-in game against Lynnwood Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. If M-P wins, they will play at Marysville Getchell in the first round of the district tournament Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.

MARYSVILLE — Junior midfielder Oshinaye Taylor scored both goals in the Marysville Gethell girls soccer team’s 2-1 win over Shorecrest Oct. 24. MG’s record improved to 12-2-1. The Chargers are ranked No. 2 in the Wesco 3A North. MG is scheduled to host its first district playoff game against either Marysville-Pilchuck or Lynnwood Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville-Pilchuck volleyball team lost to Shorewood 3-0 (25-23, 25-21 and 25-17) Oct. 24. M-P highlights: Senior outside hitter Alexis Bundy had 11 kills and sophomore libero Ivy Enberg had 15 kills. M-P’s record fell to 3-10.

SEDRO-WOOLLEY — Lakewood defeated Sedro-Woolley in volleyball 3-0 (25-17, 25-18 and 25-20) Oct. 24. Lakewood highlights: Junior outside hitters Sidney Goodall had 12 kills, and Jelly Perry added 10. Senior setter Mariah Jensen had 36 assists. Lakewood’s record improved to 9-3.

TULALIP — Cedar Park Christian (Mountlake Terrace) defeated Tulalip 3-2 (19-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21 and 15-12) Oct. 24. Highlights: Senior outside hitter Myrna Redleaf had 11 kills, and senior middle blocker Cyena Fryberg added 8. Tulalip’s record dropped to 7-6.
