Man shot 3 times in M’ville Albertson’s parking lot

MARYSVILLE – The shooter is still at large after injuring a 20-year-old man with three gunshot wounds in the downtown Albertson’s parking lot early today.

The victim, currently residing in Granite Falls, was treated on-scene by medics for life threatening injuries before being transported by aid car to an Everett hospital. Police and medics responded at about 4 a.m. A preliminary investigation found that a car full of people had pulled into the parking lot. The 20-year-old got out of the car, and someone inside the vehicle opened fire, hitting the man three times.

The victim would not give police any information.

“We were able to talk to him. He was not cooperative. He did not want to tell us who did this,” said Cmdr. Robert Lamoureux of the Marysville Police Department.

Lamoureux would not confirm it was a gang-related shooting, but did say police have targeted that area for that type of activity.

Detectives continue to investigate – reviewing security video and interviewing witnesses.

“We feel confident this was not a random shooting,” Lamoureux said. Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the Albertson’s parking lot area before or during the shooting to contact them at 360-363-8350.
