EVERETT — The Marysville Little League team lost its two games to take districts July 8.

EVERETT — The Marysville Little League team lost its two games to take districts July 8.

The nine-and-10-year olds for Marysville entered the winning bracket at Phil Johnson Fields but were bested twice by Pacific Little League 2-1 in the first game and then 12-10 in the final.

In the second game, Marysville started out strong, leading 3-1, but Pacific gradually outscored Marysville until the final inning when they led 12-6.

Marysville scored four runs in the final inning to make it close.

“Our message all along was always compete,” coach Brian Hurley said. “These guys in the past proved that they can do that. We’ve come back from being down in a lot of games.”

“I’m super proud of these guys,” Hurley said. “We had the pleasure over the years coaching a lot of these guys from tee-ball. It’s a great group of kids.”
