Huge events continue today in Arlington

ARLINGTON – Two huge events are taking place in Arlington this weekend, drawing thousands of people to town.

Both continue today.

The Stillaguamish Festival of the River takes place all day, highlighted by a concert by blues guitarist Jonny Lang at 5 p.m. Country standout Leanne Rimes was the star performer Saturday.

Other highlights at that event include: Native American dancing, kids activities and events, other music, crafts, vendors, food and animals on display by the Sarvey Wildlife Refuge.

Cost is $10 for parking. Wait lines can be long from Arlington and the north, so if you can enter from Granite Falls and the south it could save you some time. With the rain today it might not be as long as the 45 minutes or longer Saturday. Leaving also was a nightmare Saturday as an accident made the delay even longer.

The other major event going on is the 3 on 3 Extravaganza basketball tournament on the north end of the Arlington Airport.

More than 200 teams are competing from all over Western Washington is many different age categories, along with senior and coed divisions.
