Fireworks limited in Arlington to July 4

ARLINGTON – Unlike its neighbor to the south, Marysville, “Consumer Fireworks” are still legal to shoot off in Arlington, but on the Fourth of July only.

Illegal fireworks purchased on reservations can be discharged on that property only.

Arlington Fire Chief Bruce Stedman encourages residents to attend the free professional fireworks display on July 4th at Quake Park near the Arlington Boys and Girls Club. It starts at approximately 10 p.m. Food concessions will be available.

However, if you do shoot off fireworks, here on some tips:

•Only adults should light fireworks. Keep them away from children. And save the alcohol for after the show.

•Don’t hold or throw fireworks.

•Never re-light a dud. Soak all fireworks in a bucket of water after lighting.

•Clean up afterward.

Due to increased 9-1-1 calls on July 4, please use the non-emergency line at 425-407-3999.
