DNA connects Arlington man, 20, to 2 robberies near homes

ARLINGTON – Police arrested a 20-year-old Arlington man Wednesday in connection with two late-night robberies last month.

Evidence recovered at the second incident was sent to the State Patrol Crime Lab for DNA testing.

The results produced a match to the suspect, who was arrested after meeting with officers on an unrelated matter.

The suspect will be booked into Snohomish County Jail in Everett on two counts of robbery in the second degree, one count of possession of stolen property in the second degree, and two counts of violation of the uniform controlled substance act.

Both robberies took place in the 7900 block of 200th Street NE.

The most-recent incident occurred just before midnight June 11.

Someone approached a 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman as they were returning to their residence.

The suspect implied he had a weapon and demanded the victims’ possessions. One victim initially complied, but then fought the suspect, who fled and a K9 track was unsuccessful.
