ARLINGTON – For some basket-toting youngsters at Arlington’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, it’s a family adventure.

Just ask the Bartelsons.

Eleanor Balentine, who will turn 3 years old on Friday, joined hundreds of kids who scrambled onto a grassy field dotted with thousands of eggs during Saturday’s Egg Hunt west of Arlington Airport, picking up the goodies while they went.

“Eleanor loved the egg hunt and was super excited to grab and share,” said her mom, Nicole.

Grandmother Tracy Bartelson added, “She had fun, and did well on the hunt, even though it was nap time.”

Mother and grandmother stayed close with Eleanor, while dad and grandfather helped Eleanor’s older sisters Abigail, 12 and Coralyn, 9, who were collecting eggs in another section of the field reserved for other age groups.

The family just moved to Arlington in August.

Participants who arrived before the egg hunt were treated to a visit and photos with the Easter Bunny, to poke their head through Easter-themed photo displays, and meet Arlington firefighters and police officers in person.

Members with Arlington United Church and Youth Dynamics provided refreshments at the event.
