MARYSVILLE – A Marysville police officer has been placed on administrative leave due to an investigation, following the fatal shooting of his daughter on Saturday, March 10.
Although the officer's name has not been released, the Marysville Police Department announced on Monday, March 12, that Chief Rick Smith would discuss the case at a soon-to-be-scheduled press conference.
The girl – who died on Sunday, March 11, at a Seattle hospital – was shot by her sibling, who found a loaded gun in the family's van as it was parked near the Stanwood City Hall, while their parents were nearby but outside of the vehicle.
