Sadiqa Sakin received this year's "Make a Difference for Women" award from the Marysville Soroptimists. According to James, this award is intended to honor one woman each year who works to improve the lives of women and girls through her professional or volunteer work. Sakin is the founder of the World of Hearts organization.

According to James, this award is given to one young woman each year, between the ages of 14-17, who is actively engaged in volunteer work within her community or school. Kaler has been volunteering at Providence Medical Center for the past few years, and is a recent graduate of Grace Academy. Kaler's award includes money for herself and for the Children's Association at Providence Medical Center.
