MARYSVILLE — The city of Marysville is seeking citizens interested in filling three vacancies on its Salary Commission, an independent seven-member commission that conducts annual reviews of compensation for the elected mayor and City Council members.

The successful nominees will succeed Jim Scharf, Kelly Wright and Gary Edmundson, who were all members of the original Salary Commission when it was created in 2003, according to Tracy Jeffries, city of Marysville assistant administrative services director. Scharf, Wright and Edmundson have all served the maximum of two three-year terms permitted in city codes.

Candidates must be citizens of Marysville, and should submit letters of interest to Jeffries, care of Marysville City Hall, at 1049 State Ave., Marysville, WA 98270. The deadline to submit letters is 5 p.m. July 24. For more information, you may contact City Hall at 360-363-8075.

The Salary Commission meets annually between January and March.
