MARYSVILLE - Marysville Police served a search warrant related to possession of child pornography on a private residence located in the 8600 block of 74th Dr. NE in Marysville at approximately 4:30 p.m. on May 6.

During the course of the search detectives located a hidden room accessed by remote control. The door to the hidden room was located in a closet and concealed in such a manner to be undetectable. The door was fortified with heavy building material. The door was forced open and the detectives subsequently discovered a marijuana grow operation.

Detectives seized over 60 plants in various stages of growth with an estimated street value between $30,000 and $60,000. Additionally, there was marijuana packaged for sale or delivery. The operation was described as “sophisticated” in nature, and appeared to have been in place for some time.

Marysville Detectives continue to investigate both the child pornography case and the illegal marijuana growing operation.
