LAKEWOOD – School administrators from Lake Stevens, Snohomish and Selah are still in the running to be the next superintendent of the Lakewood School District.

Public meetings will take place Tuesday through Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Lakewood High School library so the community can meet the top three finalists. The public is invited to ask questions and provide written feedback to assist the board in its decision.

Final selection is expected by June 14. Michael Mack is leaving after accepting a position with the International School Group in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. On Tuesday, the community will meet Jennifer Kindle, executive director of Student Learning in the 3,500-student Selah School District for the past four years. Previously she was principal of Franklin Pierce High School near Tacoma from 2007-15. In 2010, she was state High School Principal of the Year. Her superintendent certificate is from Washington State University.

Ken Collins, assistant superintendent of the 8,100-student Lake Stevens School District will be interviewed Wednesday. Collins has served as Lake Stevens High School principal and also has nine years of teaching experience in Marysville and Lake Stevens. He earned his doctorate of education degree from the University of Washington in 2018. The final interview will be Scott Peacock, deputy superintendent of the 9,795-student Snohomish School District. Peacock has served that district since 1993. This past year he was promoted from assistant to deputy superintendent. He taught English and history for seven years before becoming an administrator. He is doctorate candidate at the UW. Others interviewed were: Jill Diehl, director of Student Services/Career & College Readiness, Longview School; Brian Beckley, chief information officer, Everett Public Schools; Pat Hegarty, executive director of Secondary Education, Mukilteo School District; and Jared Hoadley, assistant superintendent, Mead School District.
