MARYSVILLE — Flu immunization shots will be available this fall at Haggen Food and Pharmacy and TOP Food and Drug stores throughout Snohomish County.

The flu shots are $25 each. No appointment is needed. Medicare and many insurance companies can be billed if participants bring their Medicare or insurance cards.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend a flu vaccination for anyone wishing to reduce the risk of becoming ill with the flu or transmitting the virus to others.

Flu shots are particularly recommended for the following groups: children, ages 6 months to 4 years and 11 months; anyone 50 or older; women who will be pregnant during flu season; those with certain chronic medical conditions; and, persons such as health care workers or care providers who work in close proximity with others at risk of flu.

Shots are available locally as follows: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 2, Arlington Haggen, 20150 74th Ave.; and, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3, at the Marysville Haggen, 3711 88th St.
