Tickets on sale for Valentines Day dance
MARYSVILLE The city parks and recreation department will begin selling tickets Jan. 11 for its annual Father-Daughter Valentines Day Dance events.
Dances are slated for Feb. 2 and Feb. 9. The early dances are 5:30-7 p.m., while the evening session s are 7:30-9 p.m. All dances will be held in the Cedarcrest School cafeteria, 6400 88th St. NE, Marysville.
Tickets include a 5x7 photo, cookies, punch, a DJ, dancing and door prizes.
The dance is designed for all ages. Tickets are $12 per couple, $3 for each additional daughter and can be purchased at the parks and recreation office located in Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Rd., Marysville. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

City seeks musicians for concert series
MARYSVILLE Marysville Parks and Recreation is seeking musical talent and will be booking soon for the annual Sounds of Summer concert series to take place in July and August of 2008.
Interested individual musicians or bands should call the citys information line for details on how to submit their information for consideration.

Haggen begins Warm Coats for Kids drive
MARYSVILLE Haggen Food and Pharmacy along with TOP Food and Drug stores in western Washington have begun their 12th annual Warm Coats for Kids Campaign.
Those who want to help may donate new or gently worn coats, hats, scarves or mittens. All donations will be distributed in western Washington through local social service agencies.
As people consider the gifts of clothing theyve received, we ask them to consider those less fortunate since the coldest days of winter are approaching, said Becky Skaggs, spokesperson for Haggen, Inc.
Customers of Haggen and TOP Food and Drug have donated between 5,000 and 6,000 coats annually to the drive in recent years. Participating stores include Haggen Food and Pharmacy, 3711 88th St. NE, Marysville; and, Haggen Food and Pharmacy, 20115 74th Ave. NE, Arlington.
Also presented by KIRO-TV, this years Warm Coats for Kids drive ends Jan. 31.
