MARYSVILLE The Arlington and Marysville fire departments are offering joint Community Emergency Response Team training courses 6:30-9:30 p.m. Fridays from March 21 to May 2.
Officials described the seven-week course as designed to provide residents with a positive and realistic approach to emergency or disaster situations during which they may find themselves on their own without help from professional emergency squads.
Persons taking the course are required to attend all sessions, create a three-day home disaster kit, obtain certain personal safety equipment and participate in team exercises. Cost of the kits and safety equipment is estimated at between $25 and $45.
Class size is limited. The deadline for registration is March 7. For more information, contact Chris Badger of the Arlington Fire Department at 360-403-3618 or Stephanie Price of the Marysville Fire District at 360-363-8507.
