Applicants sought for Civil Service Commission

MARYSVILLE The city of Marysville is seeking interested citizens to fill a vacancy on the Civil Service Commission.
The commission is responsible for administering the Civil Service system on behalf of the Marysville police, and developing rules and regulations that meet system objectives related to civil service functions such as providing for promotion on the basis of merit, establishing eligibility lists for hiring, reviewing candidate applications and making hiring recommendations. The commission generally meets at 9 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at Marysville City Hall.
Nominees must be citizens having resided in Marysville for at least three years prior to appointment to the commission. Please submit a letter of interest in care of Assistant Administrative Services Director Tracy Jeffries at Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave., Marysville, WA 98270. The letter should also include the applicants political affiliation; city and state law require that at the time of appointment no more than two commissioners shall belong to the same party.
