Mary Edwards, Joan Grout and Miko Winder enjoy socializing with fellow artists at BookWorks Bookstores art walk Wednesday, Nov. 1. This was the first two-store art walk on Third Street in old town Marysville. The owner of BookWorks, Mary Burns is happy to have a new neighbor, Betsy DeSalvo, at Phoenix Books, right next door.
We want to add more and more stops on our art walk, Burns said.
DeSalvo formerly operated Readers Choice Bookstore in Smokey Point and started shopping for a bigger space for her second-hand book store.
On the day I signed the lease on this new spot, then a couple walked into my store in Smokey Point and said they were looking for a bookstore to buy, ?DeSalvo said. The new owners there are Bill and LIsa Scowville.
