New fire station

The bulldozers and earthmovers already have started to make way for the new Sunnyside fire station at the corner of 40th Street NE and 71st Avenue NE, but the city, the fire district and county fire officials joined forces for a groundbreaking March 3. Officials expect the $3.3 million, 11,000-square-foot facility to be finished by October and open for business by November.
