Coats for the cold

Holly Kemp loads piles of coats from Whidbey Bank in Smokey Point to her car for delivery to several different services for the less fortunate. Five branches of the bank collected 350 coats as of Tuesday, Dec. 12, and they are being delivered to Helping Hands in Arlington, the Stanwood Food Bank and Compass Health. The deadline for donating slightly used coats, sweaters and other warm clothing is Wednesday, Dec. 20. Whidbey Bank is located at 3617 St. NE Suite 3, 172nd Street, and at the Arlington Haggen store.
