Fresh Paint poster proposals wanted by Feb. 16

EVERETT ?A cash reward is offered by the Arts Council of Snohomish County for the artist who creates this years 11th annual Fresh Paint poster. The outdoor art festival on the Everett waterfront is set for Aug. 18 and 19 this summer.
The winning artist will be commissioned to create a unique piece representing the Fresh Paint experience. The selected artist will receive a $750 commission and a free booth space at Fresh Paint, a $100 value.
The commissioned piece will be reproduced as a four-color poster and will be featured in all Fresh Paint advertising and marketing throughout Snohomish County and in Island, Jefferson, King and Skagit counties, too.
This is an opportunity for some great exposure, said Marlies Egberding, chair of Fresh Paint, which features more than 100 booths of artists creating art on the Everett Marina Promenade every August.
Applications should include personal information, a resume and five samples of the artists work with an explanation and/or sketch of an idea for the Fresh Paint poster. Proposals should be submitted by e-mail preferably to freshpaint@artscouncilofsnoco.org by 5 p.m., Feb. 16, or by hardcopy at the same time.
