City parks dept. sponsors first outdoor movie series

MARYSVILLE The city Parks and Recreation Department has announced the movie line-up for the first "Popcorn in the Parks" outdoor cinema series.

Movies will be shown free-of-charge, outdoors, at various parks and locations around the city. All movies begin at dusk. Visitors are invited to bring chairs, blankets and popcorn.

The movie schedule is as follows:

n June 7, "Jurassic Park," shown in Jennings Memorial Park.

n June 28, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," Foothills Neighborhood Park.

n July 19, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," Harborview Park.

n July 26, "Hook," Strawberry Fields Athletic Park.

n Aug. 2, "Grease," Ebey Waterfront Park.

n Aug. 9, "Field of Dreams," Northpointe Park Ball Diamond.

n Sept. 6, "Ratatouille," Jennings Nature Park.

n Sept. 13, "Enchanted," Cedarcrest Golf Course.
