MARYSVILLE — Roughly 12 hours after a domestic violence call was made at an apartment in the 1300 block of Cedar Avenue, the man who had barricaded himself in his apartment with the 4-year-old daughter of the woman who had made the call was taken into custody.
Marysville Police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux reported that a female victim of assault left the apartment shortly before 4 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, and notified police, but left behind her sleeping daughter in the apartment.
Although SWAT was on the scene and negotiators continued to talk with the man inside, Lamoureux said that the girl didn't seem to be in any danger, since the man made no moves to harm her.
Lamoureux explained that the man spoke to negotiators through the window of his second-story apartment, and as soon as the man moved a far enough distance away from the girl, SWAT stormed the apartment and took him into custody at around 4:45 p.m.
"The girl is fantastic," Lamoureux said. "She has no injuries and is no worse for wear."
The man has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail on charges of assault in the second degree and unlawful imprisonment.
