TULALIP — A 1-year-old girl is dead after she and a 3-year-old child were found unconscious on Monday, Oct. 8, in a vehicle on the Tulalip Tribal Reservation.

Tom Maloney, division chief for the Marysville Fire District, reported that Marysville Fire personnel responded to an EMS call for a unresponsive child.

Both children were transported to the Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, the 1-year-old by Marysville Fire personnel and the 3-year-old by Lake Stevens Fire personnel.

Fire personnel and police were called to the scene in the 1000 block of Marine Drive NE at approximately 4:45 p.m., after initial reports indicated that a family was living in the vehicle and that the girl had stopped breathing.

Tulalip Tribal Police booked a 36-year-old woman into the Snohomish County Jail shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 9, for investigation of criminal endangerment and failure to support or care for a dependent person. She was also booked for offenses under tribal law and a warrant from Marysville Police in connection with a traffic stop in September.
