Sex offender notification meeting for Boersma April 11

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Police Department will be conducting a public notification meeting to release information regarding a Level III sex offender residing within the city limits of Marysville.

Robert M. Boersma has registered as a sex offender with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office and will be residing in the 4900 block of 61st Street NE in Marysville. He is a 23-year-old white male who stands approximately 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has both brown hair and brown eyes.

The public meeting will start at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, in the Marysville Public Safety Building, located at 1635 Grove St. in Marysville.

According to official documents, Boersma pled guilty to one count of child molestation in the second degree and one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes. The victim in his crimes was between the ages of 12 and 13.

Boersma was given a sentence of 20 months by Snohomish County Superior Court and is on active supervision for a period of 36 months with the Marysville office of the Department of Corrections.

This notification is not intended to increase fear. Rather, it is being released in the belief that an informed public is a safer public.

Level III sex offenders are those offenders whose risk assessments indicate a potential risk of re-offense within the community at large.
