MARYSVILLE - On Sept. 3,  at approximately 3:15 p.m. Marysville Police responded to an unrelated call of trespassers in the 9700 block of State Avenue. While investigating the trespass a Marysville Police Sergeant discovered the body of a male lying face down in Quilceda Creek.

The male was deceased and it appeared the body had been there for an extended period. Marysville Detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The area where the body was discovered is remote. It is in a gorge that borders the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks. The embankment drops off sharply from the railroad tracks to the creek bed.

The body was brought out of the creek with the assistance of the Marysville Fire District and released to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.

No further information is available at this time.
