WSP seeks additional witnesses to collision on Camano Island

The Washington State Patrol’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the three vehicle, one pedestrian serious injury collision that occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at about 12:15 p.m. The collision occurred on State Route 532 at Sunrise Boulevard on Camano Island.

Seriously injured in the crash was Terry A. Linder of the Washington State Department of Transportation. Linder was working near a traffic signal post when he was struck by a westbound pickup truck after it collided with another westbound car and traveled off the roadway onto the raised island Linder was working on.  Linder’s work vehicle was also struck.

MAIT detectives are seeking witnesses that may have seen the collision or any event leading up to or following the crash. If you have any information or know somebody that does, please contact Detective Sergeant Jerry Cooper at 360-805-1192 or Detective Greg Wilcoxson at 360-805-1195.
