Man killed when struck by train in Marysville
May 11, 2011 · 6:29 AM
Just after 3 a.m., May 11, Marysville police responded to a reported train vs. pedestrian fatality accident.
Detectives and members of the Collision Investigation Team are investigating in conjunction with Burlington Northern investigators to determine what occurred. According to Robb Lamoureux, Marsville Police Department, preliminarily it appears this was a suicide event. The deceased male has not yet been identified.
The Burlington Northern freight train is stopped between just north of Fourth Street and just south of 88th Street. Consequently, the main arterials to I-5 are not blocked and it is hoped the effects to the morning commute will be minimal.
The investigation is expected to take several hours.
