Marysville Fire District honors 303 combined years of member service

The Marysville Fire District recognized the years of service of current members and retirees alike during an Aug. 18 awards ceremony.

The Marysville Fire District Board of Directors joined the fire district members' peers and family members in honoring them for completing five, 10, 20 and 25 years of service. Four district members who retired this year were also praised for their decades of service. The 18 individuals who were commended had put in 303 years of fire service between them.

"We need to celebrate this group for their years of service," Marysville Fire Chief Greg Corn said. "It is a great commitment they have made to the community and the fire district."

Five years of service:

• Firefighter Chad Bonner

• Firefighter Tristan Brenner

• Firefighter Steve Neyens

• Firefighter Josh Olsen

• Firefighter Shane Thomas

10 years of service:

• Firefighter Basil Bailey

• Capt. Chad Hale

• Firefighter Sonia Kragseth

• Firefighter Paramedic Mark Sawdon

20 years of service:

• Battalion Chief Scott Goodale

• Capt. Roger "Chip" Kruse

25 years of service:

• Capt. Larry Nelson

• Firefighter Kelley Smith

• Capt. Eric Swobody

This year's retirees:

• Bob Haverty at 31 years

• Mike Lambert at 37 years

• Scott Kreiman at 29 years

• Bob Spencer at 26 years

The Marysville Fire District provides fire and emergency medical services to the approximately 72,000 residents of Marysville, Seven Lakes and Quil Ceda Village, as well as surrounding parts of unincorporated Snohomish County.
