MARYSVILLE — The Friends of the Marysville Library are looking for new volunteers to help them carry on their work.

In 2009, the Friends provided more than $14,000 to support programming at the library, and they're likely to reach that number again in 2010.

Special storytimes and concerts for preschoolers, movie nights for teens and book discussions for adults are all made possible through the work of a small group of volunteers.

The Friends are seeking people in the community who are interested in leadership or who have experience in fundraising and marketing.

Those who are looking for an opportunity to work with others who care about their community are urged to contact Marysville Library Managing Librarian Eric Spencer by phone at 360-658-5000 or via e-mail at espencer@sno-isle.org.

Contact Marysville Globe Staff at editor@marysvilleglobe.com.
