Marysville-Pilchuck High School will graduate the class of 2012 on June 11. Marysville Getchell follows on the 13th. I have no idea who has been chosen to speak at the ceremonies but for graduation speakers across the nation, it’s going to be a challenge this year. I’ve been bothered by the question, what would I say if called upon to speak?

LAKEWOOD — Burlington Northern Santa Fe has announced that it will postpone its closure of the rail crossing on 172nd Street NE (State Route 531) until after Monday, June 18, when Lakewood schools will be out for the summer.

Lakewood High School’s girl golfers have had quite the season this year, a season that ended with two players qualifying for the WIAA State Championship Tournament at the Lake Spanaway Golf Course in Spanaway on May 22 and May 23.
