Arlington, Marysville police help search for burglary suspect in Granite Falls area
Oct 05 2009, 12:52 PM GRANITE FALLS - Sheriff’s deputies and local law enforcement are looking for a burglary suspect today who fired a shot near deputies late Sunday night as they closed in on him.

About 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, a homeowner in the 21200 block of Menzel Lake Road near Granite Falls called 911 to report a burglary in which basic needs items, including blankets, shoes and food were taken from the home. Deputies searched a wooded area behind the house and found some of the stolen items. During their search someone, presumably the suspect, fired a shot at deputies. Deputies believe the suspect knew it was police since they had identified themselves in the wooded area.

Marysville Library serves as ballot dropoff location
Nov 03 2009, 7:31 AM The number of community collection centers for ballot drop-offs in the Nov. 3 general election has been reduced from last year, to five staffed locations - including the Marysville Library - and one 24-hour ballot drop box.

Days of operation for the staffed sites have also been reduced, to Election Day and the day before, but voters can still return their ballots by mail.

These reductions are the result of required budget cuts in the Snohomish County Auditor's Office.

Snohomish flu clinics hand out nearly 30,000 vaccines
Oct 31 2009, 2:50 PM SNOHOMISH COUNTY – Thousands of residents formed long lines hours before 10 H1N1 clinics throughout the county opened their doors Saturday, Oct. 31.

By 10:15 a.m., more than 28,000 doses of vaccine had either been distributed or were allotted to those standing in line. Those not in lines at that time were being instructed to contact their local physician for H1N1 vaccine.
