MARYSVILLE — The 15th annual free Fishing Derby at Jennings Memorial Park's Kiwanis Pond kicks off at 8 a.m. May 1.

The Marysville Kiwanis Club, Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club, and city of Marysville Parks and Recreation Department will host the event, which is open to children ages 12 and under. Children may bring their own equipment or use equipment that will be provided.

A limit of one fish per entrant will be enforced, and door prizes and grand prizes will be determined by a random drawing of all participants.

The Kiwanis Club will also sponsor a Pancake Breakfast from 8-11 a.m. in the Jennings Park Pavilion, at a cost of $5 per plate. All participants are asked to bring a canned food item to be donated to the Marysville Community Food Bank, and to leave their pets at home.
