'Santa in the Park' Dec. 5

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Historical Society is hosting "Santa in the Park" at the Gehl house in Jennings Park Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Children of all ages are invited to come and visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and some jolly elves. Digital photos will be printed while families wait for $10 each.

Check-in begins at the Barn in Jennings Park, where there will be cookies, cocoa and treats. There will also be a holiday raffle, featuring gift baskets and seasonal gift items. Weather permitting, a kids' train ride accompanied by Santa's elves will take children from the Barn to the Gehl house, where kids will be able to tell Santa their holiday wishes.

Children are encouraged to bring letters to Santa and drop them in a box at this event. Marysville Historical Society volunteers will ensure these letters find their way to the "North Pole," and letters with return addresses will receive a reply from Santa. A mailbox for Santa letters will also be located at the Marysville Historical Society office, located at 1508-B Third St., from Nov. 30 to Dec. 15.

All proceeds will benefit the Marysville Historical Society, which is currently directing all its fundraising efforts toward building a Marysville history museum on the land they own next to Jennings Park.
