Marysville asks dog owners to take precautions in Strawberry Fields For Rover

December 11, 2012 · 2:49 PM

MARYSVILLE — With the recent outbreak of the canine parvovirus in King County, and the city of Everett temporarily closing their dog parks, the city of Marysville is asking dog owners to take precautions. The canine parvovirus is highly contagious and dangerous, especially to young dogs.

At this time, the off-leash area at Strawberry Fields For Rover is open, but with concerns spreading across Snohomish County, the city of Marysville is asking that the owners of dogs who are ill or showing any unusual signs to keep their pooches at home and seek veterinary care.

Strawberry Fields For Rover Park will be monitoring the situation closely to determine if it will be necessary to temporarily close the park due to the increase in the virus.

For more information please contact the city of Marysville Parks and Recreation Department at 360-363-8400.
